Holiday Cheers

There is nothing like the holidays – boring office parties, once-a-year relatives and the pressure of gift-giving perfection – to drive one to drink.
Here is our holiday gift to you…some of our favorite bars in the world, and what to order when you get there.  And if you can’t get there, a little help with how to make them at home.

Bar Hemingway, Paris – Ritz Pimm’s
Quite simply the most expensive drink I have ever had. The Ritz Pimm’s is made with six different alcohols and at least seven different fruits.  Granted, it’s a lot of work and it is very pretty, but the 40 Euro price tag might make it a bit difficult to relax and enjoy it.
imageAbsinthe, San Francisco – Sensation
With flecks of green mint and a brandied cherry, you could consider this a Christmas drink.  Gin-based and perfectly balanced, this is flavorful and refreshing at any time of the year.

K Cocktail Bar, Copenhagen - Iki Chi
The Iki Chi, a Japanese-inspired Bloody Mary with wasabi, is one of many creative cocktails at this perennially popular watering hole.  Drink menu - http://www.k-bar.dk/menukort/cocktails/

K Bar - Denmark
Conservatory Lounge & Bar, Moscow –Anything with vodka.
Overlooking the rooftops of Moscow, the outdoor terrace is the place to have a cocktail, a vodka cocktail, of course, with a view.

Copacabana Palace, Rio de Janeiro – Passion fruit caipirinha
Across the street from the most famous beach in Brazil, is one of the best caipirinhas in town.

Cheers,
