Maui Photo Journal - Day 2, Upcountry

Storm clouds meant no beach day, but it was the perfect opportunity to explore Upcountry.

Peaceful scenery on the drive up the slopes of Haleakala Volacno passing green pastures and farmland.
Obligatory stop #1: Tedeschi Winery for a tasting of their award-winning wines, including pineapple wine.
Beef, it's what's for dinner - but only Upcountry's local, island-grazed beef from Maui Cattle Co.
Ulupalakua Ranch Store is must-see stop #2 for ice cream, sandwiches, shopping...or just a photo with these two.
Rolling hills, grass and livestock - not exactly a typical Maui postcard photo.

On the way back, dinner at Paia Fish Market known for their fresh fish sandwiches and tacos.

P.S. Rumor has it that Oprah stops for coffee at Grandma's Coffee House on Highway 37. You'll drive right by on your way to Upcountry, so why not pop in and try the fresh roasted, organic coffee?
